Lacey
is another mare that you can't help but say 'Morgan' the second you see her.
With a beautiful head & neck, good bone, well laid back shoulder, and
solid temperament this Southerly Conowingo daughter (Lord Appleton grand
daughter) is everything a brood mare
should be! Lacey is a 'middle of the herd' mare - never causing problems
being pushy or ignorant but still fends for herself.
Lacey had a 'big
chunk of man'
buckskin colt in '08 (see Hank on our youngsters page) and had been leased out to be
bred for a mule foal in '09. Unfortunately the Jack owners didn't cover her (due to
conflicts with holidays) and it was too late for me to breed her, by the
time she came home. Well broke when younger, Lacey has worked on community
pastures, done trail rides and the odd parade. One of the few Southerly Conowingo daughters available, Lacey is a great mom, and a terrific producer. At
the sale that I purchased her at, 3 of the top 4 selling horses were out of Lacey (all
by different sires), and the 4th was out of Clara Lee!
Lacey has been
confirmed in foal to Intrigue for a May 2010 foal, and is available to purchase. Lacey has some bird catcher
spots on her body and neck/face (was covered in them when I purchased her), which are believed to be caused by a Sabino
gene so it will be interesting to see what she throws for markings to Intrigue.
Her '08 colt has a lot of roaning in his coat and frosting in his mane, so she
definitely carries the ability to throw a sharp, eye catching foal!
LACEY IS
SOLD (Filly Retained)

At this time this
