Emma is an incredibly
well bred mare, her pedigree reads like a who's who in the Morgan world with
her 4 grandparents being Waseekas In Command, Taras Phaedra, Noble Command &
Adventures Nicole, all proven greats in the breed. She is small &
fine and can out trot any horse I have ever seen, she easily trots 3"
plus
above level - barefoot & pregnant in the pasture, when she revs herself up! I
bought Emma sight unseen, partly because of her pedigree and partly because she
was in a truly bad spot that she needed to get out of - before it hit critical
mass. She hauled up from NM like a trouper, and handled all the changes
with classic Morgan smarts. During her first summer
here we had a lot of thunderstorms that dumped cold rain with heavy winds.
I would
watch for the thunderhead storm clouds to start to pile up and I would go outside and
call "Emma, do you want your blankie"? She would come galloping in from the
pasture to get her blanket put on before the storm hit! This mare is a
true character, loves to snort and blow but is soft and kind both with people
and other horses. She was my babysitter for the weanlings winter 2008 and
was terrific at the job.
